ELECTRONIC-LOCKING FRONT AND REAR AXLE

When activated, the available electronic-locking front and rear differential locks the wheels on each axle to optimize traction and improve off-road performance when the situation requires it. The front locking differential is standard on Badlands and any series with the available Sasquatch Package. The rear locking differential is available on all 2021 Bronco series.

 

 

 

 

SUSPENSION AND AVAILABLE SWAY BAR DISCONNECT

To complement its impressive suspension travel, the available Sasquatch Package, with its Bilstein position-sensitive-damping (PSD) shocks, utilizes end stop control valve (ESCV) technology to provide control and stability during aggressive off-road driving. Also, a stabilizer bar with unique disconnect functionality is standard on Badlands.

With a high-mounted air intake and available best-in-class ground clearance, the Bronco SUV has an available best-in-class water fording capability of 33.5 inches when equipped with the Sasquatch package. G.O.A.T. MODES GOES OVER ANY TYPE OF TERRAIN

The Bronco SUV features the Terrain Management System with G.O.A.T. Modes to deliver tailored driving experiences through a suite of sophisticated electronic vehicle systems. Bronco has up to seven available G.O.A.T. Modes (Normal, Eco, Sport, Slippery, Mud/Ruts, Sand, Rock Crawl and Baja), depending on trim level, to tailor vehicle performance on various surfaces or conditions. These systems optimize steering, handling and powertrain response to allow a customer to operate the vehicle with confidence either on the road or off.

TRAIL CONTROL

The Bronco Trail Toolbox brings segment-first technology to your off-roading adventures. The first feature in your Toolbox is available Trail Control – available with automatic transmissions, Trail Control is basically a cruise-control setting for low-speed trail driving and relieves the stress of constantly adjusting throttle and braking when off-roading.

TRAIL TURN ASSIST

This class-exclusive* Trail Toolbox feature assists the driver by reducing the vehicle’s turning radius in low-speed, technical off-road environments that require large steering input. This is accomplished through the application of negative (brake) torque to the inside rear wheels of the turning vehicle. Trail Turn Assist helps reduce the effort required to negotiate difficult off-road terrain.

TRAIL 1-PEDAL DRIVE

Class-exclusive,* available Trail 1-Pedal Drive is a Trail Toolbox feature which augments Trail Control™ in more technical terrain. It enables very low-speed crawling and the ability to stop a vehicle without using the brake pedal. When the driver lifts off the accelerator pedal, hydraulic brake torque is applied.

FORDPASS PERFORMANCE APP WITH OFF-ROAD NAVIGATION

Another Trail Toolbox feature allows users to choose from a professionally curated list of select class-exclusive* electronic trail content from professional trail guide providers such as Trails Off-Road and FunTreks (with more trail content to come). Also, users can record video and vehicle telemetry to their mobile phone and then playback the recorded video when stopped to see customized overlays of vehicle telemetry data such as GPS, speed, rpm, pitch, yaw, etc., shown as custom gauges and dials, on the video.

Hit the trails with the class-exclusive seven-speed manual transmission (6+1 Crawler Gear) paired with an available 2.3L engine. The manual transmission features a unique crawl ratio of up to a best-in-class 94.75:1.

CLASS-FIRST 10-SPEED TRANSMISSION

The available class-first 10-speed automatic gives impressive low gears and helps keep you in the engine’s power band.

4X4 – WITH PART-TIME SELECTABLE ENGAGEMENT

The electronic shift-on-the-fly (ESOF) two-speed transfer case is the base, “part-time” system. This system offers the driver three modes plus Neutral. In 4H and 4L, the system provides mechanically locked 4x4. When 4L is selected, wheel torque increases for conditions like deep sand or steep grades. Flat towing is possible by putting the transfer case into the Neutral position.

SELECTSHIFT WITH AUTOMATIC ON-DEMAND ENGAGEMENT

The advanced 4x4 system features a two-speed electromechanical transfer case (EMTC) that adds an auto mode for automatic on-demand engagement to select between 2H and 4H. In 4A, the system continuously varies power to the front wheels for optimum performance for all on-road conditions. Flat towing is possible by putting the transfer case into the Neutral position.

REMOVABLE ROOF

No matter which Bronco trim or roof option you select, an open-air adventure is just a snap, push and a lift away. The Bronco SUV also has a folding top that can be easily taken down by a single individual – with no tools required. The 4-door comes standard with a soft top and an available class-exclusive removable hardtop with middle panel that provides a 2nd-row open-air experience without removing the rear cap.

REMOVABLE DOORS

Class-exclusive frameless doors are lightweight and easy to remove. * The 4-door model makes it easy to store them onboard with available onboard storage bags.

SASQUATCH PACKAGE

The Sasquatch Package is available on every Bronco series and standard on Wildtrak. The package includes 35" tires with 17" beadlock-capable wheels, front- and rear-locking differentials10 , 4.7 final drive ratio with electronic-locking front and rear axle. There’s also a high-clearance suspension and high-clearance fender flares.
